Mentoring SIG - How to Support and Empower Neurodivergent Employees through Mentoring

Guest Speaker
Susie Phillips-Baker

Susie is a Chartered Coaching and Occupational Psychologist with experience working in both the private and public sector in the UK and Ireland. Working for a national policing organisation, Susie designed and delivered selection and assessment processes for entry level through to senior policing roles and managed a coaching programme for police officers and staff across the UK. Susie has worked as a coach on national leadership development programmes including with Social Work leaders and in the Banking industry. Susie has been course director for a master’s in business psychology. She has also supported clients who are neurodivergent through assessment, coaching and training in a range of contexts.

Susie is passionate about providing her clients with the space to think and will work alongside them to help them to recognise, develop and make the most of their strengths. With a strong interest in research and contributing to the Occupational Psychology evidence base, Susie completed a PhD on the impact of motherhood in careers looking specifically at the psychological factors influencing women with children in work with the aim to make recommendations for organisations, improve the gender balance including at the leadership level.

Fiona is passionate about developing others, having worked in learning and development for the last 25 years, predominantly in leadership training, coaching, and mentoring. She is a member of EMCC’s Mentoring Programme project team, helping to deliver and develop the programme. She volunteers with the Princes Trust, CIPD and EMCC as a mentor and coach.
