Kent network: lonely work – looking after ourselves and each other

Have you ever felt lonely as a coach? Join Ana Paula Nacif, EMCC Master Coach, as she discusses the loneliness that can come from being a coach and how we navigate our own way through this in these tricky times. How do we look after our own wellbeing?

Ana is an experienced executive and group coach, facilitator and consultant who works with individuals and organisations interested in improving wellbeing and leadership capabilities. She has over 17 years of coaching experience within the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. She is a published writer and active researcher in the fields of coaching and wellbeing.

The organisers

Sarah Fox – Sarah is a coach, mentor, trainer, facilitator and podcaster who helps individuals and organisations in the not-for-profit, changemaking space to make a positive, lasting impact without burning out. For 20 years, she worked in the arts and cultural sector exploring belonging, kindness and connection. She worked for a large housing association in the south east, working in neighbourhoods often seen as ‘deprived’. Sarah then worked as a senior leader for an arts charity in Canterbury, managing large-scale projects and researching the impact of arts and creativity on creating kinder, more connected communities.

Sarah is a qualified teacher and has a masters degree in drama. She is a member of and accredited by EMCC at Senior Practitioner level and follows the Global Code of Ethics. She is also trained as an Action Learning Facilitator and Four Seasons Practitioner.

Sarah runs her own business coaching and mentoring changemakers, ranging from freelancers to Headteachers to CEOs, across the cultural and education sectors. Sarah designs and facilitates her own group programmes that support freelancers to have a financially sustainable business that has lasting impact. She also designs and delivers leadership and management training for organisations in the arts and cultural sector.

Katherine Powell – Katherine is the Director and Founder of KP&A, a company which provides executive coaching, team coaching, leadership development, coaching supervision and action learning. As a coach, Katherine specialises in working with senior and aspiring women leaders, particularly female CEOs. Katherine is passionate about empowering women into executive leadership having been on the journey to executive leadership herself. She believes that everyone should lead ‘just as they are’ and uses her coaching skills to support leaders in achieving this.

Katherine has a degree in Psychology, a ILM Level 7 certificate in executive coaching as well as additional qualifications in MBTI®, Transactional Analytic Counselling, Team Coaching, Well-Being Coaching, Coaching Supervision (ESIA) and NLP. She is a member of and accredited by EMCC at Senior Practitioner level and follows the Global Code of Ethics. Katherine works with existing and aspiring executive leaders working with companies such as Pay.UK, CBRE, PiXL, Sky, Essex Air Ambulance, Education Development Trust, Ambition Institute and Aakash Odedra Dance as well as senior figures in local government, education and other charitable organisations.

Katherine began her career in retail management working for W.H.Smith, later providing learning and development opportunities to new leaders entering the business. She is a qualified teacher and worked as both a Head Teacher and Executive Head Teacher of a federation of schools, achieving ‘National Leader of Education’ status which enabled her to support organisations facing challenge as well as advise the Department for Education on the direction of education policy. Most recently, Katherine has been a director of and deputy to the CEO of a successful multi-academy trust. Katherine’s portfolio of responsibilities included change management, improvement strategy, learning and development, facilities management, corporate governance and human resources. Katherine has held numerous positions on boards, advising, guiding and challenging organisational improvement and success.
