EMCC UK is a thriving membership community for coaches, mentors and supervisors. We work together to maintain and progress high quality standards in coaching and mentoring practice in the UK.
We welcome members who are self-employed or independent practitioners, who work internally as part of an organisation, as well as providers of training and qualifications to others, including primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions, and business schools.
We support our community through the contribution of our amazing volunteers, who sustain special interest groups, organise our networks and forums, and serve on our governing body and board. We are an organisation for members, run by members. For opportunities to volunteer please check out our vacancies and opportunities page.
Our commitment and service to our members drives everything we do. Here’s how:
Inclusive – we strive to make coaching, mentoring and supervision accessible, champion new voices and alternative perspectives, and provide a welcoming, inclusive and supportive community.
Progressive – we aim to enable the debate of societal and systemic issues, support our learning and growth from cross-cultural experiences, and share knowledge across the globe.
Supportive – we provide practical support so our members’ professional practice can thrive, including ‘horizon scanning’ for emerging technologies and practices. We share learning and research through our partnership with EMCC Global.
Professional – we promote research-based and ethical practice, highlight the importance of accreditation, CPD and supervision, and celebrate the difference we make as professionals.
In the UK we currently have over 4,000 individual and corporate members, including individual coaches, mentors and supervisors, public and private organisations (some with a varied number of in-house coaches and mentors, others who buy coaching and mentoring services), training companies, academic institutions and research bodies.
We are part of EMCC Global, which has over 14,000 members across more than 26 affiliated countries or regions. There are also direct members of EMCC Global in countries where a local EMCC does not yet exist, bringing the global reach to 85 countries. The President of EMCC UK sits on the Global Council.
The work of EMCC UK is organised and run by our Board and Governing Body. The Board ensures that the aims and values of EMCC are maintained and communicated. The Governing Body ensures that the organisation is run effectively and transparently, in the best interests of our members. They are supported by a small operations team. Find out more about the Board and Governing Body in the resources below.
